Setúbal - In the fourteenth century, is founded in the city the first corporation of naval carpenters and already by that time the salt was extracted.
From there departed several navies to India and here married King D. João II, also staying in this city.
It was in this city that the poets Bocage and Sebastião da Gama were born, as well as the lyric singer Luisa Todi.

Forte São Filipe - also known as Castelo de São Filipe, was built during the Spanish occupation in 1582, during the reign of Philip I, and aimed to strengthen Setúbal's defense against pirates.
It was classified National Monument in the twentieth century. In addition to the spectacular views of Tróia, the Sado river and the city of Setúbal, inside there is also a small tiled chapel.

Convento de Jesus - classified as a National Monument, was founded in 1490 by the nanny of King D. Manuel I and is in Manueline style.
The Gothic church is well known for the beautiful torsed columns made in brecha (a stone from the Arrábida mountain) that support the vaults.
The Convent houses the Setúbal Museum, with various collections.

It is one of the main summer resorts in the region, with its beaches (Gold Beach and California Beach) very popular during the summer.

Cape Espichel - here is the Shrine of Our Lady of Cape Espichel, or Our Lady of Pedra Mua. The cult began in 1410, when the image of Our Lady of the Cape was discovered from Cape Espichel.
The church was built between 1701 and 1707, and due to the large influx of people, the inns were built.
Near the Sanctuary is the 15th century Hermitage of Memory, where the apparition took place. Inside the chapel, you can see the 18th century tile panels, alluding to the legend of Senhora do Cabo.
